Life At Ease

And those tears of gratitude
Flowed this Sunday morning
As I stood at the stove
Over scrambled eggs
And once more as I
Strolled to the store
To buy laundry detergent
How could I forget about last night
As I turned out the lights and
Listened to the sounds of the city
This is first weekend
In a spot all my own
So blessed to call it home
I’ve been nonstop on the go
Now learning the importance
Of receiving and taking it slow
Opening the windows
A gentle breeze passes
Through the unfurnished living room
Usually anxiety ridden
I sit and spend time in the present
Living in a dream that came true
