Maiden Voyage

Never embarking on a solo voyage,
she allowed the smoke to cloud her senses
as it danced around the room with no escape.
Anticipating liftoff, she’s launched
far into space where no gravity exists
floating amongst a star filled galaxy.
Feeling heavier, pulled deeper she discovers
sights once unseen, dreams once untold.

Red eyes eclipsed by closed lids
means this flight is a short one.
In a second she is transported
back to Earth, back to bed,
delivered into utter relaxation.
