Together Again

My belongings are scattered
Through Jersey, in Brooklyn
Puzzled, searching for pieces
What will it take to mend?

Eager for a place, all my own
To lay down roots and nurture
Takes more than four walls
To make up a happy home

Dreaming of decorating
Walking around nude
Singing songs to the heavens
With no one to intrude

Sifting through multiple layers
Of my self, all boxed away
Know there’s a place for us
To be safe, where we can stay

Secure in who we are
In where we rest our head
Showering as long as I want
I can even jump on the bed!

In time, found the final piece
Walked ‘cross a threshold, found peace
