Last Supper

The salt from my tears
Added flavor to the peppers
That I stuffed hand by hand
My valuables are packed
As a sentimental woman
Pieces of my heart
Is what I left behind
Living within each member
Memories I hold dear
Never would I forget
My little sister’s smile
Play fighting with my brother
My mother’s unique style
Having a drink with my step-dad
Chatting over a glass of wine
We’re gathered ‘round the table
Bowing our heads to say grace
I peak through one eye
Capturing a glimpse of their face
For the eldest daughter
A final dinner to remember
