SPOILER ALERT!

In the last week I have been to the movies twice. I missed the whole experience. Finding seats, grabbing snacks, obnoxious people in the theater, I missed it all. Everything except for the loud chewing during the movie but I’ll accept the good with the bad.

I had a very wholesome dinner with my family then took them to see a horror movie. Balance. We went to see Scream 5, now to know me is to know that I love horror movies, slashers more specifically. Scream is my favorite franchise, it holds so much nostalgia for me since its my mother’s favorite too. Since it’s tradition, it was only right I try and pass the love of the movie down to my siblings. It was a really good time! Though the movie started off slow there were tense moments where I actually got a bit nervous, a few times I looked away from the screen.

Wes’ death scene was so well shot, the build up until the killer appears on screen is so good, especially considering the fact that the previous scene someone told him he would be safe. That should have been my first clue!

Dewey’s death was so unexpected but after so many movies you have to up the stakes, show the audience something they hadn’t seen yet. So I respect it. If there’s another movie Gale is next, then Sidney. I don’t actually want the franchise to go through that…

The movie had so many good moments but there’s one thing makes it so memorable.

What the hell was the ghost of Billy Loomis doing in this movie?

New final girl Sam sees hallucinations of her father Billy freaking Loomis. We discover that he cheated on Sidney with lord knows who in the first movie. This ghost of Billy Loomis appears in the movie so many times, a serial killer ghost encouraging his daughter even pointing out a weapon to her. She had serial killer spidey-senses. Now I’m all for entertainment, whatever you have to do to make the plot work, I get it…but they almost lost me with that choice.

I say all that to say, yes, I will be binge watching every single movie including number five very soon.
